The Great Furneaux Garden Sculpture Challenge
Get ready to witness a dazzling display of creativity and craftsmanship at this year’s Furneaux Festival, as we introduce “The Great Furneaux Garden Sculpture Challenge!” This unique event, taking place at the Saturday Market on January 20th, is not just an exhibition of artistic talent but also a fantastic opportunity for artists and enthusiasts to contribute to a great cause.
The challenge is open to everyone – whether you’re an experienced sculptor or a first-time creator. The rules are simple and inclusive:
- Freestanding Artistry: Your sculpture must stand on its own, safely and sturdily.
- Material Magic: There’s no limit to what materials you can use. Let your imagination run wild!
- Theme Diversity: Any theme goes! Express your vision without boundaries.
- Collaboration Celebration: Work alone or team up – all collaborations are welcome.
- Timely Arrival: Ensure your sculpture is at the market Saturday 20th January 8:00am for setup.
But that’s not all! This challenge is about community and giving back:
- Community Support: 10% of each sold sculpture will go to the Arts, and another 10% to the Food Network.
- Tag Your Work: Don’t forget to attach a legible tag with your name, phone number, the sculpture’s title, and a starting price. Illegible tags will result in disqualification.
This event isn’t just about selling sculptures; it’s a celebration of the diverse and vibrant artistic spirit within our community. It’s a platform for artists to showcase their talents, for art lovers to find unique pieces, and for everyone to support important local causes.
